Re: Export to quickbooks

hi heiko --

it is a very popular business bookeeping program - used by thousands...

http://quickbooks.intuit.com/

trading friday at an almost $42.00 USD per share....
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=INTU&am … q=l&c=

i see the next wave of phpshop and ecommerce application users replacing thier proprietery point of sale systems and replacing them with local wifi networks running something like phpshop tweaked for their occasion, ported to quickbooks.

this will make point of sale systems affordable, and make what we are doing much more valuable...

already, my clients are asking "how can we use the web site to run our business??"

we need to be prepared to offer a solution...

gone are the days of local wired business pc networks for small business...

and we need to be ready....

sharp cash registers already offers a cash register ported to quickbooks - this helps but folks still need an order entry system...

as things are now users of this app, need to get the orders online then re-enter them into tieir bookkeeping system -

this is time consuming and the biggest obsticle i see to a future with phpshop...

thoughts??

Re: Export to quickbooks

I'd like to see PHPshop integrate with SQL Ledger. If PHPShop interfaced with a powerful open-source accounting package it would knock the socks off any other e-commerce package.

Click and mortar management of inventory and sales. That's a future I'd like to see.

Re: Export to quickbooks

I would love to have the quick books interface.  I may soon have to develop it if not available.  Is there any interest in  doing this cooperatively?

Re: Export to quickbooks

i would not know where to start - but this would be a god send and make a world of difference

Re: Export to quickbooks

Not sure if this is COMPLETELY related, but this page:
http://web.intuit.com/personal/quicken/qif/
will be dropping a format for Quicken.

I'm not sure if it's related because it's Quicken, not Quickbooks and there must be other formats the software will support.

That which is, is; that which is not, is not; that which is, is not that which is not; that which is not, is not that which is.

Re: Export to quickbooks

hi --
'quickbooks' is an actual accounting program

'guicken' is a you do it home office program...

over the next few weeks i will spend some time on this and see what we can do...

Re: Export to quickbooks

ok -
looks like the company intuit has a seperate developer web site..

lets pull together and get the bookkeeping integrated with this phpshop to bring this to the nedx level

here is the link to developer intiut

http://developer.intuit.com/

store front offers this - it is an add on module they sell for 169.00 USD

Re: Export to quickbooks

You might also want to check out what the osCommerce community has already done.

http://www.oscommerce.com/community?contri...ks&category=all

Rather than starting from scratch, one of their open source addons looks pretty full featured already.

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...arch,quickbooks

It would then be a porting effort from osCommerce's functions/data formats to phpShop's.  Nontrivial, but probably better than starting from scratch.

Re: Export to quickbooks

You can also take a look at QuickBooks Integration addons by MagneticOne. These applications are available for Store Managers for different shopping carts. E.g. you can check QuickBooks addon for osCommerce at www.magneticone.com/store. Same applications available for CRE loaded, X-Cart, Zen Cart, Pinnacle Cart and Magento. Hope it's somewhat helpful.

QuickBooks is Intuit Inc’s set of software solutions designed to manage payroll, inventory, sales and other needs of a small business. The software’s features include marketing tools, merchant services, product and supplies, training solutions. Each solution is developed according to different industries and their needs.
